November is
Military Families Month
Dear Burger King® Franchisee,
You are invited to participate in the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ Unmet Needs Program, which provides emergency assistance to military families while their family member is in active service. Cash donations from our fundraising helps families pay for essentials such as rent/mortgage, utilities, medical expenses, vehicle repairs and food.
The program has been a huge success, thanks to fellow Burger King franchisees and their generous customers.Together, they have provided emergency financial assistance to more than 2700 families across America. And now, you can do your part by helping us break records this year.
Here’s how it works: During the month of November, customers come into your participating Burger King restaurant and donate $1 or more to sign a “flag” showing their support of military families. 100% of the money raised from the flags goes directly to help families in the same state as your store.
It’s incredibly easy to participate! Simply sign up by Friday, September 30.
Burger King and “service” go hand in hand.
Now I am asking you to take “service” to an even higher level by helping America’s military families in their time of financial need.
Military families sacrifice so much for us. It takes so little time and effort to honor their service by joining our November campaign. The money you raise helps the families they leave behind with basics like rent/mortgage, utilities or medical expenses. Please join us in making a difference for these families. Do it now while it is on your mind.
Sincerely,

Mike DeRosa
Burger King Franchise Owner
and Member of the VFW Foundation Board of Directors
P.S. Remember, the September 30 participation deadline is looming. Hurry and sign up today! Let’s keep the flame lit for America’s military families who need us.
